Film trailer and poster analysis

Film Poster:
 The key conventions:

- central image- some people might notice the star and would want to watch a film with him in it.

- title- the audience would know where wall street is (New York) and would want to know what will happen there.

- secondary image (the party behind him) - the audience will notice the secondary picture and will know its a party and will then would want to watch the film to find out more about the party and what will happen in the party.

- release date (September 25)

- stars/actors/directors- the audience would be familiar of the stars/actors/directors and notice that every film they have been is was a success for example Leonardo DiCaprio was in titanic and titanic was a very successful film.

Film Trailer:

The key conventions:

- sound- the sound (music) is a non-diegetic, which is not within the sphere of the film and only the audience can hear it.

-lighting+colour- the lighting of this film is quite bright as there is a lot going on in the scenes so the audience would want to know what is going on all around the scene. The colour would also be very colourful as this is a 20th century film and in the present days there is a lot of colour.

-close-ups and+ fast paced editing- close ups are used in this film to zoom in on the stars and actors so the audience would recognize them.

-production blurb- the production blurb (final shot) is about what the film is based on and who the screenplay was made by.

-title- the title is at the end of the trailer so people can watch it until the end to find out the film name.

-tag line- the tag lines are in the beginning, middle, and at the end all presenting the stars/directors/actors.
